Encore’s Illuminate Shines at the Utah Summer Games

This past weekend, Encore’s Aspire Illuminate team had the incredible opportunity to perform at the Utah Summer Games opening ceremonies in Cedar City—an event that draws thousands of attendees from across the state.

After months of rehearsal and preparation, our young artists took the stage with energy and heart, delivering a powerful, high-impact medley from The Wiz. Their performance filled the stadium with music, movement, and joy—earning cheers from an enthusiastic crowd and creating a moment these performers will never forget.

Being invited to perform in front of such a large and diverse audience was a meaningful milestone for our show choir. Aspire’s Illuminate program is our premier opportunity for young performers to travel, grow, and showcase their talents in new and exciting venues. From theme parks to city festivals and now to the Utah Summer Games, our performers are gaining real-world experience that goes far beyond the classroom or rehearsal hall.

We are grateful to the Summer Games for including us in this incredible event and to the parents, staff, and volunteers who helped make it happen. At Encore, we believe that theater builds confidence, community, and character—and this performance was a shining example of all three.
