Students will master core jazz and theater dance fundamentals while learning signature moves from beloved shows like Chicago, West Side Story, and Hamilton. Develop stage presence, storytelling through movement, and confidence in performance while exploring how different Broadway eras have shaped dance and choreography.

Class Focus Weeks 1-8: The Magic “I Want” Individual Development/Storytelling
Inspired by the strong-willed, starry-eyed and adventurous protagonists of Disney films, this session centers around young artists learning the fundamentals of acting through characterization exercises, imaginative play, and structured application activities.
Young artists will be assigned various Disney characters to workshop as they develop physical awareness, creative movement, vocal exploration and emotional expression; therefore building the actor’s toolbox from the ground up while using material that is exciting but still familiar.
Beyond performance skills, students will also develop their body awareness, communication skills, emotional literacy, and self-confidence – all while learning to follow direction and maintain their natural creativity.
Class Focus Weeks 9-16: A Walk Through Wonderland Ensemble Building
Join us for a walk through the world of Wonderland in this ensemble-based class where young artists will utilize and perform scenes from the classic tale, Alice in Wonderland, in order to deepen their understanding of teamwork, collaboration, and storytelling.
In this session, young artists will employ improvisation based exercises, team-building games, partner work, and viewpoints based movement in order to find their characters. By utilizing the story of Wonderland, students will be able to more easily understand character dynamics, relationships, character driven movement and vocal exploration.
Whether learning to move with intention, reacting to fellow performers, or working through an improvised scene, children will grow as both actors and individuals. Expect laughter, creativity, and lots of teamwork as each child takes the stage in a supportive and safe environment.

Class Focus Weeks 1-8: The Art of Improv Ensemble Development/Storytelling
Build confidence, creativity, and adaptability onstage through the art of improvisation. This dynamic acting course invites young performers to strengthen their instincts, imagination, and ensemble skills while learning to create compelling characters and stories without a script.
Students will develop foundational improvisation techniques centered on active listening, collaboration, and bold decision making. Through structured games, scene work, and guided exploration, actors will practice character creation, emotional truth, physical storytelling, and narrative structure in spontaneous performance.
This course emphasizes a supportive, playful environment where students learn to trust themselves and their scene partners. By engaging in short form improv, group storytelling, and performance based exercises, young actors will gain tools that enhance both improvised and scripted work.
Class Focus Weeks 9-16: Character Exploration through Movement Individual Development
Students will develop physical awareness and creative movement through Laban-inspired techniques, while vocal exploration and articulation games strengthen their expressive abilities. Through imagination-based play, basic emotional expression exercises, and character physicality work, young performers will build the foundation skills essential to any actor.

Join us for this special 4 week session of Freestyle with Clayton “C-Bass” Ashcraft. Clayton has over 20 years of freestyle hip hop dance experience from around the world.
Together we’ll learn fundamental grooves, musical rhythms, street dance style’s history, improv, and most of all - have fun. Each session will discuss the background and cultural importance of a style, followed by technique practice, and ending with an open dance circle encouraging freedom of expression and movement.

In this introduction to theatrical props , students will discuss and implement elements of design as they learn what makes a great prop. Students will be assigned scripts to analyze as they learn to build and organize props lists. From designing- to planning- to creating- to seeing what it takes to run a props room backstage, young artists will have a chance to try their hand at this technical skill.
