Meet the Les Mis team!
Randy Sly
DIRECTOR
Randy Jo Sly grew up in Las Vegas, Nevada where his love for theatre and storytelling began. From a young age Randy has participated in theatre-making both on and off stage which lead to attending a Performing Arts High School as an acting major. Randy holds degrees in Film Production and Theatre Arts with a focus in directing. He strives to bring a cinematic edge to live performance with intention and an understanding of audience reception and hopes to create an educational process for the young artists in understanding the power of story and how the choices we make on stage impact an audience.
Leslie Scott
MUSIC DIRECTOR
Leslie Scott has been a professional vocalist and performer for many years, with a deep passion for music spanning a variety of genres and styles. Her career has included musicals, stage productions, fronting jazz and rock bands, and recording work for special projects. She began performing for the Disney Company in Aladdin’s Oasis Dinner Show and as Belle in Beauty and the Beast on Stage, later traveling the world as a singer and dancer for Disney, even performing while pregnant. While performing has taken a back seat in recent years, she has found immense fulfillment in mentoring young artists, helping them develop authenticity in their vocal performance and stage presence. Watching their growth and artistic development has been an incredibly rewarding experience.
Emma Vaquez
MUSIC DIRECTOR
Emma Bowler Vasquez is thrilled to be back at Encore, this time co-music directing Les Misérables alongside the wonderful Leslie Scott. Having music directed for the past five years on shows ranging from Matilda to Fiddler on the Roof to Crazy for You, she is especially excited to return to Les Mis, a show that holds a special place in her heart. In addition to her work in musical theater, Emma runs a voice studio with her husband, Chris, where she finds immense joy in helping her students grow as artists. She is grateful to be part of this incredible production and hopes the music inspires both the cast and audience alike.
