Encore’s Page to Stage Brings Hamilton to Life for Nearly 50 Young Artists
Encore’s most recent Page to Stage event was nothing short of extraordinary. Nearly 50 young artists, family members, and guests joined us for a powerful night at the Smith Center in Las Vegas to see the touring Broadway production of Hamilton. But the experience began long before the curtain went up.
In the two days leading up to the performance, Encore hosted a hands-on workshop led by our Artistic Director, Rhett Guter. Together, students explored the history, themes, design, and language of Hamilton, digging into the storytelling techniques, scene structure, lyrics, and musical innovation that make the show a cultural phenomenon. These workshops set the stage—literally—for a deeper appreciation of what they would soon see live.
On the evening of May 28, we carpooled to Las Vegas in small groups, filled with anticipation. The performance at the Smith Center did not disappoint. From the first beat to the final bow, the show captivated our group with its energy, precision, and unforgettable performances.
After the show, the learning continued in an exciting and unexpected way. Our group was invited to meet with the tour’s dance captain for an impromptu Q&A and mini workshop. Our students had the chance to ask insightful questions about the production, life on tour, and the creative process—and even get a taste of the choreography up close.
It was a night of inspiration and impact, where performance, education, and community came together in the best possible way.
At Encore, Page to Stage is more than a field trip—it’s a full-circle experience designed to enrich and deepen the artistic journey of our students. With opportunities to explore shows before they see them, meet professionals who bring them to life, and reflect on the meaning behind the work, our young artists gain more than a memory—they gain perspective, purpose, and passion.
We can’t wait to do it again.
