Voyaging to Victory: Moana Jr. Makes Waves at the Electric Theater
This July, Encore Performing Arts set sail on an unforgettable journey with our summer production of Disney’s Moana Jr.—and what a voyage it was! Performed at the historic Electric Theater in downtown St. George, this inspiring youth production featured not just one—but two incredible casts (Orange and Blue)—each bringing their own energy, heart, and flair to the beloved story.
Directed by former Encore student Molly Pearson, with musical direction by Emma Vasquez and choreography by former student Gabbie Bowler, this production was a true celebration of Encore’s mission: to empower young artists through mentorship, storytelling, and hard work. Watching these once-students step into leadership roles and guide a new generation was a full-circle moment we’ll never forget.
After weeks of rehearsals, early mornings, late nights, line runs, and dance calls, the cast delivered performances full of joy, commitment, and passion. The stage lit up with island spirit, catchy songs, heartfelt moments, and powerful performances that left audiences cheering and smiling night after night.
From Maui’s charm to Moana’s bravery, every young performer brought something special to the stage. The teamwork, resilience, and growth on display reminded us—once again—just how much young artists are capable of when given the opportunity to shine.
To everyone who helped bring Moana Jr. to life—cast, crew, volunteers, families, and fans—thank you. We are so proud of what this team accomplished and can’t wait to see where their talents take them next. As Moana herself says, “There’s just no telling how far you’ll go.”
