Signature Shows

Encore's flagship productions. Full, story-driven musicals with complete production values — where rigorous artistic training meets compassionate mentorship, for Young Artists ages 13 to 18.

About Signature Shows

Signature Shows are Encore's flagship, most advanced productions — and the entry point into our Signature Stages program. Each is a full, story-driven musical with complete production values: sets, costumes, lighting, and sound, running for roughly a dozen performances. They ask for professional-level commitment while keeping the educational support that lets Young Artists take real creative risks. Staff- and faculty-led mentorship creates a safe space to discover, develop, and grow a unique voice through storytelling and the art of performance.

What Makes Signature Shows Special

Our most advanced stage

Professional-level commitment, full production values, and mentorship that makes real artistic risk safe.

Full production values

Complete, story-driven musicals with real sets, costumes, lighting, and sound — running for roughly a dozen performances per production.

Professional-level training

Industry-standard rehearsal practices and expectations, paired with the educational support that lets Young Artists take real creative risks.

Mentorship and a safe space

Staff- and faculty-led mentorship throughout the process, so Young Artists can discover, develop, and grow their unique voice.

Advanced craft

Deep character development and storytelling immersion — building advanced confidence and collaborative leadership on stage and off.

Acting Theory Curriculum

Signature Shows commonly pair the production with a weekly acting class grounded in the major theorists of stage acting — Stanislavski, Meisner, Hagen, Chekhov, Linklater, Bogart, and Johnstone — applied directly to the show's actual script. It is one of the things that sets Signature Shows apart from Emerging Artist Shows: Young Artists are now thinking critically about why and how acting works, not just executing it.
